Celebrating Kadayawan

Davao city once again is successful in its week long celebration of 24th KADAYAWAN festival. It is a celebration of Good Harvest. The theme of this year is “Nahiusang Katawhan Nakigdait sa Kalibutan” (“One People in Communion with the Earth”.As expected there were lots of activities and every dabawenyo enjoyed it. I with my friends watch the indak2x sa kadalanan last Aug.22 (Saturday). We also have a night out for Ale's(Office mates/friend) birthday bush at Zed's pizza during night. Though I did not go out on Sunday to watch the floral parade I manage to watch it on TV so that I would not miss the fun and the beautiful flower arrangement.Which is one of Davao's pride.

Kadayawan 2008

Madayaw na adlaw sa aking fellow bloggers. Were celebrating one of the biggest event happening in our city now the " KADAYAWAN FESTIVAL ". The theme for this year is "Musanay Lumadnong Kagikan, Yutang Kabilin Panalipdan!" (“Flourishing Indigenous Heritage, Protecting Ancestral Nations”).

A week full of surprises and events. Mall wide sales and bunch of tourist visit our city in this once a year event. Davao City is blessed, despite some war on the other side of Mindanao. Davao City stay peaceful and calm.

A few days ago, me and my colleague went to Ozmeña Park to see houses of Tribong Dabawenyo. It was created few weeks ago to allocate shelter for those tribes who want to celebrate the occasion and to show as all as well on how they lived. This year is all for our Indigenous fellow men. I also heard that the Hiyas ng Davao candidates was from all tribong dabawenyo, unlike those past years. This is more exciting and fun to watch, but sadly I did not witness this event..too bad..

It's not yet late, you can come and visit davao and enjoy the durian, events such as "Indak -Indak sa kadlanan ", "Floral Parade " and lots of night party.. c yah all!weeehh
